Which Four Seasons Thailand hotel will the next White Lotus use?

I really thought The White Lotus would be a one-and-done sort of series after the first one. (Or what’s more commonly called a “limited series.”) But then they went and found a way to make a second season, which was as entertaining (if not more so) as the first. In large part thanks to Jennifer Coolidge, but truly, the entire cast was marvelous. Not to mention that the plot was once again enthralling, twisty, and WTF.

But when Jennifer Coolidge’s character died in season 2, I figured that was game over for the series.

Nope. Recently, Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) announced the HBO award-winning hit will return for a third season. (Combined, the first and second seasons were nominated for 43 Emmys, winning 15.)

It looks like Coolidge won’t be back, but I’m hoping she might make a flashback cameo appearance or something. Because one character she was connected with in season 1, Belinda the spa manager (played by Natasha Rothwell), is returning in season 3.

The rest of the cast will be all new and include some exciting heavy hitters that will be perfect for a White Lotus plot. We’re talking the likes of Leslie Bibb,  Michelle Monaghan, and Parker Posey, as well as Dom Hetrakul, Jason Isaacs, and Tayme Thapthimthong.

Two Four Seasons hotels have served as White Lotus hotels.

In addition to the actors, the hotels also play starring roles. The Four Seasons Maui at Wailea in Hawaii served as “The White Lotus” hotel in season 1. The San Domenico Palace in Taormina, Italy, which is part of the Four Seasons hotel chain, was “The White Lotus” in season 2.

Per the WBD release, we know filming for the next season begins in February in and around Koh Samui, Phuket, and Bangkok. Thailand has four Four Seasons hotels, including the Four Seasons Resort Koh Samui and the Four Seasons Hotel Bangkok at Chao Phraya River. Will we see bits and bobs from both?

We’ll have to wait and see. One thing’s for sure, whether they film scenes in the bustling metropolis of Bangkok, the beaches of Koi Samui, or any of Thailand’s other exotic locales, we’ll be treated to spectacular scenery.

Here are a couple of examples from our trip to Thailand in 2018. (Pardon the date stamps. I didn’t realize they were on at the time.)

Koh Samui
I believe we visited Chaweng Beach during our visit to Koh Samui in 2018.
Wat Phra Kaew
The Grand Palace in Bangkok.
Wat Arun Bangkok

Bangkok boats
We were assured a visit to Bangkok wouldn’t be complete without spending a portion of it on the river.

  1. I don’t know enough actors to say which one would be cool to have in a season. But I do think your photos are amazing. What a beautiful place!
