What One Question Would You Ask Robert Englund About His New Show?

Nightmare on Elm Street's Robert Englund hosts Travel Channel's True Terror
Robert England, the host of True Terror on the Travel Channel.

True Terror with Robert Englund premieres Wednesday, March 18 on Travel Channel. As the name suggests, the man perhaps best known for his iconic role as Freddy Kruger will lead viewers through history’s horrors.

Like many other Freddy fans, I’m insanely excited about this new show. Not because Mr. Englund will reprise his villainous persona. (Although, that would make for a fun show too, right?)

It is good to see him doing something spooky-ish as himself, though.

Plus, it’s history. Spooky history at that. Ripped straight from the headlines of yesteryear.

The Episodes

The stories include accounts of flying monsters, creatures in the night, and evil possessions and hauntings. The accounts will be paired with commentary from historians and experts, proving truth is always stranger than fiction.

There are only six episodes in the series, but each episode will feature multiple headlines.

The premiere episode is called “Twisted Relationships.” It includes a story about a North Carolina storekeeper tormented by a prophetic countdown to his doom. Did he will his own fate, or was there a higher power at play?

Then a New Orleans teenager finds himself trapped inside a waking nightmare, unable to save himself from his horrific fate.

Finally an Atlanta police station becomes a battleground for a killer –and a vengeful spirit.

Other episodes this season will include stories about a shadowy serial killer known as “The Axeman” who authors a letter that ignites panic, a greedy undertaker who defiles the dead –then faces their wrath, and a mythical creature that stalks a family.

Excited yet? If not, check out the nightmarish trailer.

If this doesn’t make you excited about the show, it’s okay. I’m excited enough for the both of us.

Question

However, I’m even more excited because there’s a slight chance I’d get to ask Robert Englund a question. I mentioned to one of the show’s PR people that if on the off chance he was granting interviews, I’d love to be considered as one of the sources who got to speak with him.

She wrote today and asked if she was able to set up a roundtable interview opp, would I be interested.

I’ve done those before with Josh Gates. It’s where multiple outlets are on the line and you each get one question. But you get to hear all of the other questions and the answers.

Are you kidding? I’d LOVE that! I immediately wrote back YES!

But the now question is…what would I ask for that one question?

I’ve got a couple of weeks to think of one. If the call even takes place.

But if it does, I want to be prepared.

And you know how I like to ask others what they might ask when I find myself with a chance to talk to a star of a show (ie. Steve Shippy) or multiple stars of a show (ie. Kindred Spirits).

So, what would you ask Robert Englund if you had the chance? You never know, I may like your question so much that’s the one I ask!

  1. I’d ask where do non-human entities come from? Are they demons, aliens, some kind of energy from another dimension, time travelers?
