Travel Channel released a trailer for its upcoming new series, True Terror with Robert Englund. Yes. That Robert Englund, a.k.a. Freddy Krueger of the A Nightmare on Elm Street franchise.
The legendary horror movie icon brings news from yesteryear to life like never before. He’ll bring viewers twisted, true tales ripped straight from the headlines.
The six-part series premieres Wednesday, March 18 at 10/9c. Each episode will detail more than one headline.
For instance, the premiere episode, “Twisted Relationships,” begins with a North Carolina storekeeper who is tormented by a prophetic countdown to his doom. Did he will his own fate, or was there a higher power at play?
Then, a New Orleans teenager finds himself literally trapped inside a waking nightmare, unable to save himself from his horrific fate.
Finally, an Atlanta police station becomes a battleground for a killer –and a vengeful spirit.
Other stories this season include:
- A mechanical marvel that torments its owner;
- A shadowy serial killer known as “The Axeman” authors a letter that ignites panic
- A farmer battles a devilish curse
- A greedy undertaker defiles the dead –then faces their wrath
- A future president enters a savage beast’s den
- A family is stalked by a mythical creature.
But that’s not all. There’s more. But warning: it’s the stuff of nightmares.

Courtney Mroch is a globe-trotting restless spirit who’s both possessed by wanderlust and the spirit of adventure, as well as obsessed with true crime, horror, the paranormal, and weird days. Perhaps it has something to do with her genes? She is related to occult royalty, after all. Marie Laveau, the famous Voodoo practitioner of New Orleans, is one of her ancestors. That could also explain her infatuation with skeletons.
