Haunts and Hounds: Haunt Jaunts Newest Endeavor

Haunts and Hounds is an apparel, gifts and accessories store that combines two of my loves: ghosts and haunted places plus animals.

The “Haunts” part funds my activities as Director of Paranormal Tourism for Haunt Jaunts. The “Hounds” part keeps my pooch and trusty traveling companion, Murphy, in bones.

Murph Man

As many of you are well aware, jaunts –be they to haunts or not– require mula. You may have also surmised by the advertising on my blog that I’m most definitely a for-profit blogger. Unabashedly and unapologetically. (Hey, I have to find some way to fund my jaunting habit!)

I’m always on the lookout for new ways to make money. I’ve long known about Cafe Press stores, and I’ve always seen the value in opening one. I also often have sayings pop in my head that I think would make great T-shirt or bumper sticker slogans. Predominantly they have to do with ghosts or pets.

But it wasn’t until the other night that something clicked and I put it all together. The name “Haunts and Hounds” sprung immediately to mind so…

I made it happen.

I’m still learning how to do everything. (For instance, I created middle centered designs, as well as smaller and upper left designs. However, Cafe Press has it set up so you can shop by design per category. Those upper left designs don’t always look right on all of the items.)

Ah, well…I’ll figure it out.

Speaking of designs, I’ve only got three done so far:

  1. I Love Ghosts
  2. I Brake for Ghosts
  3. Poo Crew

But you can get them on everything from T-shirts and mugs to clocks and aprons. I included some examples below.

Oh, and don’t let the “Hounds” part of the name fool you. I have cat-related designs planned too. (Because part of my jaunting expenses includes paying someone to watch the cats when I’m gone. But I have a feeling Murph will make that come out of the “Haunts” side of the profits.)

  1. Very cool idea and jeez–I love that Murph–how can you deny him anything? Besides, I highly recommend you take your dog to haunted places–he’s your best meter.

  2. Thanks, Jessica! I don’t know a thing about designing T-shirts. I just sort of winged it. So if you like any of the designs…HURRAY! And thank you!!!!

Thanks, Sharon! I am biased so of course I think Murph is adorable, but when others agree it just tickles me silly. And AGREED! He’s not only my best meter but my protector. (Actually, Mr. Meow is an even better meter. And protector. That cat is one touch kitty. I am not afraid of any demons or ghosts with him around!)

  3. Hi Frog Queen! It’s always great when you stop by.

Well, if I had all your design skills I’d be even more thrilled about this T-shirt idea, but I like you stopped by and added your two cents. Maybe I’m on to something…

    Thanks again!

  4. Super late reply… although I did check this out when posted! The t-shirt is great; and I need to know what sizes the poo crew come in? Giant size and teeny- weenie sizes; hopefully!

And AutumnForest is right… animals are always great meters! My TJ was the most intuitive animal ever. He was (and is when he feels like it) right beside me… seeing everything. And.. on that note? A lightbulb right overhead? Just burned out. Kid you not!

  5. LOL Brenda! There is no such thing as a late reply. (Coming from me, who’s notoriously behind all the time on blog commenting…;)

Weird about the bulb too! What kind of dog is your TJ?

Oh, and YES…dog shirts come in size small to 2XL!
