Fandango’s Fall 2023 Movie Survey Reveals Fans Want Horror

Fall 2023's Most Anticipated Horror Movies Fandango Survey

Well, we have the answer to whether or not A Haunting in Venice is an Agatha Christie horror movie. According to Fandango’s 2023 Most Anticipated Fall and Horror Movie Survey, it is.

In addition to being the number one most anticipated horror movie this Fall, it also ranked as one of the most anticipated Fall releases overall. Three other horror movies joined it on that list: The Exorcist: Believer, Saw X, and Five Nights at Freddy’s. However, only A Haunting in Venice cracked the Top 5.

But Fandango uncovered something else in their survey. As you would expect, moviegoers are also in the mood for all things spooky and scary this Fall. 96% of those surveyed said they plan to watch at least one horror movie on Halloween. 78% claimed they watch between one to six horror movies every month.

  1. Yeah! More Haunted House/Ghost movies!! I still think Disney should have released The Haunted Mansion in October, but too late now. Once October hits I’ll be DVRing all my favorite paranormal shows and whatever good stuff Turner Classic Movies shows, especially if they show Nosferatu, The Haunting, etc.

Maybe they’ll release HM to streaming in October? Or to DVD? (Or I guess maybe both lol) I like your plans for October viewing! That’s the way to do it! (And good picks for the TCM movies. Here’s hoping they show those!)

  3. I’m guessing they’re going to stream HM in October. It’s leaving theaters and it would be a no-brainer to show it then.

  4. However…..I don’t they think they’ve ever shown ‘Something Wicked This Way Comes’ on Disney + and that was a GOOD film, atmospheric and some definite scary moments.

Exactly. It’s the perfect time for it. And maybe that’s why they released it earlier? To get more bang for their buck? Who knows, but I’m sure there was some method to their madness. lol

OMG I loved that movie!!!! I forgot all about it! It’s a gem!

  7. Found out yesterday The Haunted Mansion is going to be available via Disney+ on October 4th.

Ooo! Check you out, Maria! First off, you said you had a feeling they’d release it in October, but second, thanks for coming to share the exact date!

  9. Too bad the Travel Channel and Discovery are forgetting all about their paranormal loving fans! Their loss! Have you heard anything about Ghostober, Courtney?

  10. Oh, and I adore Taissa Farmiga. To me, there is something so alluring about her that I just can’t put a finger on. Go The Nun II! And, yes, I am married, but if I weren’t …

  11. Author

Hey, Torey, nope. If they’re doing Ghostober and sent out any info on it, I am no longer in the loop because I haven’t received any.
