It’s one that brought Lt. Kenda face to face with the rarest and deadliest of violent killers: a serial killer. In fact, it was his one and only serial killer case.
Homicide Hunter: Devil in the Mountains premieres on ID on Sunday, November 27, from 9-11 PM ET/PT. It also streams the same day on discovery+.
Earlier this year, ID announced that Lt. Joe Kenda would return in three Homicide Hunter specials. The first one, Homicide Hunter: Never Give Up, premiered on ID in August, but we didn’t know what the other specials would be or when to expect them. With the announcement of Devil in the Mountains, we now know what the second one will be about.
We also know the third one in the trilogy will premiere sometime in 2023. But we don’t have any other details about it yet. As soon as we hear more, though, we’ll be sure to share it.
We just know that Homicide Hunter: Devil in the Mountains will once again follow a similar M.O. to the beloved Homicide Hunter series. That is to say, Lt. Kenda captivated viewers with stories of murder cases he solved during his 23-year-long career, and lead them through labyrinthine cases that plagued him for years. He does the same in these specials but just focuses more in-depth on one case.

Did you know Lt. Kenda only ever worked one serial killer case, or did that catch you by surprise too? (I mean, I’m glad it’s only one if there had to be any. However, I’m also sort of shocked there weren’t others.)
