Midsummer Scream, the world’s largest Halloween and horror convention, never disappoints. Their “Hall of Shadows” possesses over 12 haunted attractions, and “The Screaming Room” features short films from around the world. But Midsummer Scream also offers immersive experiences, and one this year promotes the upcoming home entertainment release of The Boogeyman.

Let’s check it all out, starting with what the movie that’s inspiring this experience is all about.

About The Boogeyman

The Boogeyman is a horror thriller based on a short story by best-selling author Stephen King. It opened in theaters on June 2 and starred Sophie Thatcher (Yellowjackets), Chris Messina (Birds of Prey), Vivien Lyra Blair (Obi-Wan Kenobi”), Marin Ireland (The Umbrella Academy), Madison Hu (Bizaardvark), LisaGay Hamilton (Vice), and David Dastmalchian (Dune.)

Here’s the synopsis from 20th Century Studios:

High school student Sadie Harper and her younger sister Sawyer are reeling from the recent death of their mother and aren’t getting much support from their father, Will, a therapist who is dealing with his own pain. When a desperate patient unexpectedly shows up at their home seeking help, he leaves behind a terrifying supernatural entity that preys on families and feeds on the suffering of its victims.

The Boogeyman Search & Survive Experience

There aren’t a lot of details about exactly how it will work, but here’s the goal: try to avoid the terrifying supernatural entity creeping around Midsummer Scream and escape with your life. (I don’t know about you, but that sounds like the basis of a horror movie if I ever heard one.)

The Boogeyman experience will be open to guests all three days of Midsummer Scream. Additionally, the first 50 brave attendees, per day, will receive a limited-edition The Boogeyman poster.
