October 2022 on ID Overview
ID kicks off its must-watch October 2022 programming with the heartbreaking one-hour special The Murder of Gabby Petito: What Really Happened, which premieres Wednesday, October 12 at 10/9c. In 2021, aspiring influencer Gabby Petito set out on a cross-country road trip with her fiancé, Brian Laundrie. After documenting their travels on social media, she suddenly disappeared, and the ensuing mystery went viral. Now, never-before-aired footage of the couple offers insight into their relationship days before she vanished, and the nightmarish outcome calls the police and public treatment of domestic violence situations into question.
Programming over the course of October also includes the new series debut of No One Can Hear You Scream, which features survivors and investigators recounting true stories of horrifying crimes in the most isolated corners of the country.
There’s also The Freeway Killer: Lost Murder Tapes, a new special which features chilling confession tapes that decades later may provide crucial insight into a tragic string of killings along California’s freeways.
Additionally, new seasons of classic, fan-favorite ID series return, including Body Cam, The Murder Tapes, and American Monster.

I think American Monster would be interesting. Can you tell by looking at someone? I remember a woman at our old church in Virginia who said she saw the evil in a face of a man who was convicted of several murders. But I saw his picture, and he looked like a normal guy. Did I miss some physical clues, or did she have a supernatural gift of discernment?
Oh, I can SO relate, Priscilla! There was a guy we played volleyball with and I was shocked to turn on the news one day and see his photo…in conjunction with being a serial rapist they’d been trying to catch for 15 years! I instantly thought to Wayne’s very first reaction to meeting him when we started playing volleyball. He instantly disliked him and said, “There’s just something not right about that guy.” Other than sometimes having a temper on the court, I didn’t get threatening vibes from him. He looked normal. Not like the monster he turned out to be, that’s for sure. It’s interesting how sometimes we pick up on clues and sometimes we overlook them. Scary!
