Haunted Hills Estate Scream Park in Uniontown, Pennsylvania, will introduce “Remote,” a 30-day 18+ Mobile Horror Experience. The socially distant scares start on Wednesday, April 22 and last until May 20.

Socially Distant Scares

Haunted Hills Estate recognizes that thousands of horror fans are looking for a unique form of entertainment to enjoy while in quarantine. They teamed up with Shock Theater to produce an experience that’s acceptable for the time we currently find ourselves living in, meaning one where maintaining social distancing is not only imperative, but required in most states. Pennsylvania being one of them.

Which presents a problem for a haunted attraction like Haunted Hills Estate. Travel Channel named their Christmas haunted house one of the Top 10 Scariest Christmas haunted houses in the country. And their Haunted Valentine’s Weekend in February generated “festival-sized crowds.”

They’re clearly doing something right to bring people in, which pre-COVID-19 wasn’t an issue. Now, however, crowds are scarier than any terror-filled haunted house.

So they got creative.

“Haunted Hills Estate Scream Park has a 17-year history of offering innovative Haunted House experiences,” says Aidan Finnegan, the event’s Marketing Director. “We were among the first to develop the Escape Room concept, a Zombie Paintball experience, and a horror/flag football hybrid years before they became commonplace at haunted attractions across the country.”

The mobile horror experience is the next step in HHE Scream Park’s streak of staying one step ahead of the competition.

“Call From Restricted”

Haunted Hills Estate’s and Shock Theater’s “Remote” mobile production is called “Call From Restricted.”

It’s Shock Theater’s fourth mobile production. However, it’s the first of its kind for the scream park –or any haunted attraction in the Pennsylvania/West Virginia market.

But the beauty of it is, you don’t have to live in PA or WV to experience it. According to a press release I read about it, the terror transpires remotely via phone calls, text messages, emails, social media and more.

All you have to do is sign up and pay your fee. The experience costs $30, or $1 per day since it’s a “30-day immersive, completely interactive mobile horror experience.”

If you’ve ever wanted to live a horror movie, here’s your chance.

Good luck! (And check back if you do it and let me know what you thought of it.)
