Haunted Dining in the Dark: A Unique Horror Meal

Scary halloween dinner party concept with a glass of red wine, black plate, knife, fork and skull candle with cobweb on black background.

Are you afraid of the dark? Or maybe you’re not afraid so much as it makes you uneasy sometimes. Which is understandable. Pitch dark is great for sleeping in, but how about for eating a meal? Haunted Dining in the Dark tests exactly those limits.

Haunted Dining in the Dark Menu

They offer three appropriately color-coded menus: Green (Vegan), Blue (Fish), and Red (Meat).

Each includes a starter, main, and dessert. It doesn’t specify exactly what you’ll be eating. Starters are all described the same: “fresh, crisp and zesty summertime flavors.” But the main and dessert descriptions vary a little.

For the Green menu, the main is described as “a savory yet sweet, earthy surprise with contrasting textures.” The dessert says, “classically delicious & familiar tastes, presented uniquely.”

The mains for Blue and Red, respectively, are as follows: “oriental flavors meet tender textures in a fresh ocean wave” and “deeply savory with a lashing of sweetness and textures.” But the Blue and Red dessert descriptions are the same: “pillowy clouds of goodness with a floral, herbal twist.”

Part of the fun is seeing if you can identify what you’re eating.

Haunted Dining in the Dark FAQs

If it’s dark, how do the servers know where to go?

According to TimeOut, mask-clad servers are equipped with night-vision goggles. So they can see you, but you can’t spot them… Creepy!

Is there a dress code?

That’s a fair question because it’s not like anyone can see you, after all. Except for the servers, of course.

They don’t enforce a dress code but they do encourage guests to dress in cocktail or Halloween attire.

How much does it cost?

$89 per person.

  1. It sounds REALLY fun, but I think I’d get so scared by the story in the DARK (!!) that I’d be afraid to eat much.

LOL! I really like to see what I’m eating before I put it in my mouth so that’s why I don’t think I’d eat much. But you raised another interesting point…I’m not a good multitasker. I’m really not one to sit and munch on popcorn at the movie. At least not during it. I like to arrive early to eat some popcorn. So I might get too caught up in the story and not eat either! lol
