Okay, I’ve been inspired by Mrs. B and her 31 Days of Halloween, Sharon’s fiberdoodles Halloween Blog Party, and MarZel’s Play of Light and Shadows October giveaways to have some Halloween fun too.
I figured why not splurge and do a Christmas at Halloween kind of thing by giving away…what?
That’s what stumped me. What could I give away? Sharon’s coordinating a party, Mrs. B has sponsors up the wazoo, MarZel does too (and also creates things herself to giveaway if I understand right)…what can I give away?
Travel related items would be the obvious choice. I thought of soliciting for sponsors. Haunted House and other Halloween attraction tickets, maybe a complimentary night at a haunted B&B, a complimentary dinner at an Eerie Eatery…I’m full of ideas!
But I’m also a newer blog. Is anyone going to think I reach a big enough audience to make it worth their while to entrust donating such groovy giveaway items like that to me?
Perhaps in time. Once I’ve proved myself worthy. And one way to do that is to provide groovy gifts myself.
Since I’ve postponed getting HauntJaunts.net up and running, I have some extra cash that I had intended to pay authors with that I could use for giveaway gifts instead. The best gift I could think of was gift cards.
Thus, starting October 19 (to coincide with fiberdoodles 13 Days of Halloween Blog Party), I’m going to launch Haunt Jaunts First Halloween Gift Card Extravaganza Giveaway!

Cool idea! I always thought it’d be cool to hook people up who have videos they wanna get rid of…list the movies they want to get rid of and then they can look at other’s lists and they can send each other trades. Maybe in the future you can do something like that with videos/books. I see your site growing fast and furiously.

Autumnforest: That is an EXCELLENT idea!! Thank you for sharing that. I just might do something like that going forward…maybe for Christmas. And maybe with other things too. Like Halloween decorations. I have this one skeleton pirate in a cage I had planned to do a ghost pirate theme with, but he’s an indoor figure and my stuff is all outside…He doesn’t quite work. (I don’t have anywhere to properly display him, He’s never been used though, and it seems a shame just to let him sit in his box)…hmm…THANKS for making my ol’ brain work!
Julie: I figured Starbucks might be a good GC giveaway. I figured for those who go on a hunt, they can stop and get their Java high before an investigation. Or those taking off early in the a.m. for a haunt jaunt somewhere might could use it for their morning jolt…and when I saw your other comment about needing your coffee, you were the first to come to mind who might dig this. Glad I was right! =)
