Friday Fun: Haunted House Prank on Real Estate Agents

A friend from Phoenix shared this link with me from a local radio station there: WATCH: Haunted House Prank on Real Estate Agents. (The video’s also posted below.)

After watching I of course immediately shared it on HJ’s FB page. Way too funny not to!

However, it also makes a great post for today’s Friday Fun installment.

The thing I like best about this is how honest the reactions are. The real estate agents think they’re there to evaluate a house for a possible listing. They have no idea it may be haunted. (Which of course it isn’t, but they also don’t know they’re part of a haunted house prank.)

The first couple of things that happen make most jump, but don’t cause too much concern. By the time the house really starts letting loose though? Most are fleeing! (My favorite agent is the one who is ruffled but still tries to remain calm and says something to the effect with his hands up, “I didn’t do anything.” As if he doesn’t know what’s going on but he doesn’t want to be blamed for the mess that’s forming around him. So funny!)

The reaction to flee is very telling. I still don’t know if ghosts are real or not. (Seriously. I think I believed in them more before I started Haunt Jaunts and was less skeptical back then. Now it’s exactly the opposite. But that’s a post for another day…)

Anyway…what’s so telling is that if ghosts ever did manifest as actively as the ones in this haunted house prank, and there are those who claim to have experienced such things –and who have reacted like the real estate agents did (high-tailing it away from it all)– who can blame them? Flight or fight kicks in and for most people, paranormal investigators aside, flight is the common instinct.

I’m not sure what I’d do in such a situation. Would I run or stay and try to see if I could calm the spirits down? (Or wait and see if I was being pranked?) Who knows. What do you think you would do?
