Favorite Images from This Past Year’s Jaunts

Not only have I met a ton of neat people this past year, I’ve been to a lot of neat places. Some were places I never expected to go. A couple were on my Bucket List.

Since it’s Wednesday and I’ve tried to feature images for Wordless Wednesdays this past year, I thought posting favorite images from this year’s jaunts would be a sort of fun way to celebrate Haunt Jaunts second anniversary.

Some you may have seen before, others might be new. I hope you enjoy viewing them as much as I enjoy reliving the happy memories they bring.

After a great meal at Staff's our waiter told us about an encounter he'd had with their possible ghost

The Magnolia Grill haunted me with memories of a delightful dinner

Attack of the gator in front of the Fudpucker's in Fort Walton Beach

The Gateway Arch (taken as we zoomed by in our car)

Lemp Mansion (Bucket list haunted place cross off!)

Mystery Machine and Haunted Mansion (Wasn't expecting to find them at Six Flags!)

This jaunt was a sad one, not a haunted one. It was to Munster, Indiana for my aunt’s funeral. However, on the way back we stopped at Fair Oaks Farm Dairy Adventure and treated ourselves to the best ice cream cones we’ve ever had. This place is definitely on our list of must eat spots. We’re hoping to have an excuse to drive back by some day.

Fair Oaks Farm Dairy Adventure (they have tours)

Fair Oaks Farm Cheese Factory (in addition to cheese this is also where they sell that fabulous ice cream)

What a blast I had losing my ghost hunting virginity at the Old South Pittsburgh Hospital with Steve and Angie from Ghost Eyes, Jessica from Ghost Stories and Haunted Places, and Jeremy of Rocket City Paranormal. It was a hot and sweaty night to remember!

Bed in "trigger room" - Old South Pittsburgh Hospital (Freaked me out!)

The "We Investigated Here" wall inside the hospital. I jaunted where Ghost Lab roamed!

We hit nine cities in 10 days, including New York City, Newport, Gloucester, Bar Harbor, Halifax, Sydney, Charlottetown/Prince Edward Island, Saguenay, and Quebec City. Here are some of my fave pictures. (The majority of which are from Quebec City, which I fell head over heels madly and irreversibly in love with.)

New Yorkers may recognize this building hiding within Central Park

The view from inside one of the tunnels along Newport's Cliff Walk

The shoreline in Acadia National Park

The Anne of Green Gables house on Prince Edward Island (a bucket list type of jaunt)

The streets in old Quebec's Lower Town

The tracks of the Funicular leading from Quebec's Lower Town to Upper

The ruins they've escavated in front of the Chateau Frontenac

View from Quebec's Citadel looking down on Upper Town and the Chateau Frontenac

What beautiful monuments grace this battlefield.

More monuments (they looked particularly impressive on the fields next to the cannons)

This one was at tour stop 6 and was my fave because you could walk inside and go to the top!

There were even memorials remembering the horses

This was our first big outing for 2011. We hit New Orleans, Costa Maya, Cozumel, Belize City, and Roatan. It might prove to be the big jaunt for the year since San Francisco and Las Vegas have now fallen through. (At the beginning of the year I thought both of those were likely.)

Well, no matter what, at least we had a blast on this last trip of Haunt Jaunts calendar year. (Which also provided more fun pics!)

Another sacred structure at Chacchoben

Shipwreck off coast in Roatan right across from where our ship docked

Big ol' iguanas at Gumbalimba Park in Roatan
One of the Mayan statues in Chankanaab

Scary pirate dude in Cozumel

Was SOOO excited to shop in this store!

Wasn't expecting to actually find any zombies in New Orleans

Virgin Mary statue under the water in Chankanaab

Big boots, big gun, big bird...I'm set. Let's roll!

  1. Great pics! I think your feet need to grow some more before fitting into those boots in the last shot though.

  2. LMAO! My legs too. Those are some mighty tall boots and I’m just a wee girl. (Height wise.)

  3. Sure didn’t know I’d be seeing most of them either. THANKS for the photo comment too. You know I consider that high praise coming from a photographer I GREATLY admire! 😉

  4. Thanks for this nice photographic tour. You went to a lot of great places and saw some really cool stuff!!!

Haven’t been in the position to jaunt much myself the last couple years. This spirit is definitely getting restless. 🙂

  5. Oh, you’re welcome! THANKS for stopping by and checking it out AND leaving a comment!

And I can relate. From 2007-2009 there was not much jaunting going on. I think we got so restless then we’re still trying to get it out of our system! 😉
