Spirits Abound at Moon River Brewing Company’s “The Haunting” Tour

I don’t always write about individual events that I add to the Ghost Tours & Ghost Hunting page, but this one is a little different so I figured it deserved it’s own post. It’s an event called “The Haunting” happening at Moon River Brewing Company.

Moon River is the most haunted bar in Savannah, Georgia -or at least the most famous. It has its appearance on Ghost Hunters to thank for first launching it to paranormal fame. But of course it’s since appeared on other ghost hunting shows, including Ghost Adventures.

Anyway, “The Haunting” is a special event that will take place for just four nights: June 20, June 23, June 27, and June 30.

Moon River’s Paranormal Activity

If you watched when Ghost Hunters and Ghost Adventures investigated the bar, then you know it’s a very spirited place with activity like:

  • Shadow figures
  • Orbs
  • Objects breaking on their own
  • Electronics/lights malfunctioning
  • Temperature changes
  • Whispers
  • Footsteps
  • Knocking sounds
  • Doors slamming on their own

Activity has been reported all over the establishment, but who can resist a creepy haunted basement? And that’s where the bulk of “The Haunting” will take place.

Immersive Ghost Experience

Event goers will start the evening with a private tour of the second floor, which includes exploring the back area where the regular ghost tours don’t go.

Then everyone heads to the basement where spirits will abound. In addition to beer (that’s of course brewed on site), there will be wine and a special cocktail named after the event.

There might also be spirits of the paranormal kind. There will definitely be stories of them, as former and current employees share tales of their own personal encounters and experiences. But they will also attempt to summon the building’s spirits –taking precautions by implementing a salt circle for everybody’s protection.

Phones Off and Waivers

Upstairs they’ll allow photos, but once everyone goes to the basement it’s phones off. Cameras off. Video recorders off. Nothing. Nada. Not even flashlights.

Event goers also have to sign a liability release waiver. (So in case that salt circle doesn’t work, you can’t hold them responsible.)
