A Lifestyle Site for Restless Spirits Who Enjoy Exploring the Dark Side
True Crime | Horror | The Paranormal

Courtney Mroch (Page 21)

Courtney Mroch is a globe-trotting restless spirit who’s both possessed by wanderlust and the spirit of adventure, and obsessed with true crime, horror, the paranormal, and weird days. Perhaps it has something to do with her genes? She is related to occult royalty, after all. Marie Laveau, the famous Voodoo practitioner of New Orleans, is one of her ancestors. (Yes, really! As explained here.) That could also explain her infatuation with skeletons.

Speaking of mystical, to learn how Courtney channeled her battle with cancer to conjure up this site, check out HJ’s Origin Story.

Why was I at first fooled by the ad for Insidious 5: The Red Door on Nextdoor? Because it fit right in with all the other scary posts I often see on the platform. Kidding. Well, sort of. I don’t know what Nextdoor posts in your area are like, but whereContinue Reading

Is Robert Englund going to be in horror movie news every month from now until Halloween? Not that I’m complaining, mind you. First, there was the hubbub leading up to the release of the Robert Englund documentary. Now there’s buzz about his newest forthcoming movie, Natty Knocks. However, it’s notContinue Reading

“Yeah, it’s definitely like a dark pop with some rock elements in some songs,” Katrina Weidman said when I asked if she’d describe her style of music as “alt rock.” Which I think is fair to say is not how most people would describe Janet Jackson’s music. So why wasContinue Reading

A fall feel is definitely prevalent in the trailer for Cobweb, a new horror movie releasing in select theaters on July 21. So is Halloween, both the season and the original 1978 movie. Although, it doesn’t appear Cobweb has anything to do with Michael Myers. Its tagline, however, hints atContinue Reading

What do places like the Lizzie Borden, Villisca Axe Murder, and Amityville Horror houses have in common with places like Alcatraz or the Cecil Hotel? This is sort of a trick question. However, if you said “ghosts” or “hauntings,” you’d be right. But before they were known for their paranormalContinue Reading

Move over, Chucky. The Last of Us has also inspired a haunted house at this year’s Universal Orlando Halloween Horror Nights (HHN). A curious thing happened when The Curious Case of Natalia Grace premiered on ID on May 29. The three-night event docuseries was a hit. So much so it’s merited a sequel, The Curious Case of Natalia Grace: Natalia Speaks. Which maybe isn’t all the curious (or surprising), considering ID usually producesContinue Reading
