What do the Prognosticators of 2019 Have to Say?

If you follow Coast to Coast AM’s site, they post all kinds of articles. The ones I’ve gotten a kick out of the past several weeks are the reports of what certain clairvoyants predict for 2019’s future.

So what do they have to say? Let’s take a look:

Blind Mystic’s Predictions for 2019 and Beyond

The predictions from this psychic come posthumously. Baba Vanga, the “Nostradamus of the Balkans,” died in 1996, but she recorded predictions for years–heck, decades, even centuries— after her death. Some have even come to pass, like 9/11 and the devastating tsunami in Indonesia in 2005.

For 2019 she predicted that another devastating tsunami will hit somewhere in Asia, a giant meteorite will hit Russia, and the European Union will suffer an economic collapse.

Additionally, two of the world’s most controversial leaders, Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump, can also expect an eventful 2019. Baba Vanga foresaw an assassination attempt on the Russian’s leader’s life, and she predicted the United States’ president would suffer a baffling illness.

‘Asparamancer’ Forecasts 2019

Jemima Packington is an English psychic medium who uses food to make predictions –but not pancakes. Her food of choice is a little more healthy: asparagus –and perhaps a lot less messy, since she tosses the asparagus in the air, then reads how the stalks fall to see what the future holds. (But now I suddenly want to try my hand at food divination with pancakes. Or maybe I just want to eat a stack. Maybe the butter and syrup will reveal the future’s mysteries? Actually, I already know what they’ll say: “Your belly will soon expand and your blood sugar will spike…”)

So what did the Asparamancer’s asparagus tell her?

A Star is Born can expect Oscar success. (We’ll see. If the Golden Globes are any indicator –it’s regarded as a pretty good predictor itself –this claim might not hold up.) There’s failure ahead for a well-known British business. Another recession is headed to the U.S., possibly due to the trade war with China. Oh, and asparagus will enjoy all-time high record sales. As  Tim Binnall, the Coast to Coast article’s author, quipped, “…although one suspects that she may be a bit biased when it comes to that topic.”

‘Grand Warlock’ of Mexico Issues Forecast for 2019

Psychic medium Antonio Vazquez held a press conference in early January to issue his prognostications for 2019’s events. Not sure if he was trying to generate maximum coverage, but as Coast to Coast’s article put it: “…in a rather remarkable display of media savvy, Vazquez focused on the controversial proposed border wall between Mexico and the United States.” That garnered interest.

Spoiler Alery Vazquez predicted President Trump won’t get his funding. He also said “there will be a very grave problem arising from this wall foolishness” which will occur either January 8th or 9th.

Since both dates have already passed, let’s look back. Not sure Trump’s Speech to the Nation, which happened on January 8th, could be construed as a “very grave problem.” However, if you’re a stickler for facts, it might. Several fact-checking articles (see: NYT, Washington Times, & Time.com for a few) show how Trump cited false and misleading statistics during his address.

But apart from American politics, what else did Vazquez predict would happen in 2019? Among other things, that drug trafficker Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman would  be found guilty and sentenced to life in prison, and that Cuba and Miami should brace for an active hurricane season.
