When news broke earlier this year that the Lizzie Borden Bed and Breakfast Museum was for sale, I wondered who would buy it. I speculated maybe it would interest Zak Bagans. Perhaps become an east coast haunted museum?

Nope. We now know who the Lizzie Borden house’s new owners will be: U.S. Ghost Adventures. They’re under contract to buy the infamous property in Fall River, Massachusetts.

We had the pleasure of talking with U.S. Ghost Adventures project manager Josef Kruger a couple of times last year. (I’ll link the podcasts and YouTubes below in case you missed them.)

This is also the same company we got our haunted host a ghost Lily doll from and had a chat about her origins. (Which, if you’ve visited our Skareporium recently, you may have noticed Lily featured in one of the photos above our idea lists.)

About U.S. Ghost Adventures

U.S. Ghost Adventures is not to be confused with Zak Bagans and his Ghost Adventures show. The haunted entertainment company offers over 30 ghost tour experiences across the United States, both in-person and via their Ghostflix livestream paranormal tours.

The acquisition will expand their portfolio, but what will they keep the same and what will they do differently? Anything?

Let’s check out what we know so far.

Lizzie Borden House New Owners Plans

They have plans to continue operating it as a museum and bed and breakfast, where visitors can tour the home and stay overnight in one of six rooms. Lance Zaal, who founded U.S. Ghost Adventures in 2018, was approved for the licenses to operate the museum on March 24.

“We look forward to adding the Lizzie Borden house to our growing portfolio of haunted experiences and working with the staff to create new opportunities for guests,” said Zaal. “We have exciting plans for the house that we’ll announce in April. A healthy transition for the staff and preserving the historical site are our top priorities.”

So there you have it. Soon they’ll make some more announcements but pretty much it sounds like they’ll keep it the same. Maybe even enhance it a little bit!

Lizzie Borden House Two-Night Stay Sweepstakes

To celebrate their acquisition, the company is offering a sweepstakes. The lucky winner will receive transportation and a complimentary two-night stay at the Lizzie Borden House.

About the Lizzie Borden House

The Lizzie Borden house is famously known as the home of Lizzie Borden, whose father Andrew and stepmother Abby were gruesomely murdered with a hatchet in 1892.

Lizzie Borden was accused of the murders, and her trial became a national media sensation. She was acquitted in 1893.

The murder is considered one of the oldest and most infamous unsolved murders in the United States.

The home is also renowned for its hauntings and has been featured in movies, books, music, and numerous tv shows. To learn more or to book your Lizzie Borden experience, visit www.lizzie-borden.com.
