Question Answered About Zak Bagans’ Haunted Museum

When “Deadly Possessions” first aired, I wondered if it was both a TV show and a museum. The confusion stemmed from a press release announcing the show. It was this sentence in particular that did it: Zak Bagans is fulfilling a lifelong dream of opening a museum in downtown Las Vegas, full of the haunted, cursed objects he has been collecting through the years.

I couldn’t believe Zak had opened a haunted museum and I’d heard nothing about it.

That’s because at that time he hadn’t.

His museum is set to officially open Monday October 2, 2017, and there’s been plenty of buzz leading up to it.

#ZaksCastingCall

The buzz started in earnest back in July, when Travel Channel announced Zak’s Haunted Museum Casting Call. Two lucky Ghost Adventure fans would be picked to accompany Zak on a tour and an investigation of his new museum for an upcoming Ghost Adventures episode.

Applicants had to create a short video and tell Zak why he should choose them. Then they had to post their video on Instagram and/or Twitter using the hashtag #ZaksCastingCall.

As you can imagine, there were a ton of submissions. Here’s some of my favorites from Instagram:

If you know me… you know I LOVE @ghostadventures @realzakbagans #ZaksCastingCall

About the Haunted Museum

Here’s what to expect, straight from Zak Bagans’ Haunted Museum site:

Paranormal enthusiasts visiting Zak Bagans’ The Haunted Museum will venture down creepy winding hallways and secret passages into more than 30 rooms that rival scenes from Hollywood horror films, setting the stage for frightening facts about each paranormal piece such as the Dybbuk Box known as the world’s most haunted object. The vintage wine cabinet inspired the movie “The Possession” and is said to house a malicious spirit. Shortly following its arrival, holes mysteriously began to appear around the artifact. A Downtown Las Vegas marketing executive also witnessed a black-cloaked figure pass through the exhibit’s closed door during a private tour with Bagans.

Among the hundreds of terrifying possessions, museum-goers can even peek inside the VW death van in which Dr. Jack Kevorkian ended the suffering of terminally ill patients as well as get a close-up look at the “Propofol chair” from Michael Jackson’s death room.

Perhaps most unsettling, the original staircase from Indiana’s “Demon House,” notorious for powerful paranormal activity before being demolished in 2014. The wooden banister and creaky steps now stand in a dimly-lit corner, resting on a blanket of dirt from the location. Following its installation, a group of construction workers walked off the job and refused to come back.

“They had several terrifying encounters in that room, said Bagans. No one should underestimate energy, good or evil, that can reside in a physical object even after its owner is no longer living especially something that played a role in a traumatic event.”

For that reason, visitors are required to sign a waiver stating they understand the risks before entering. Additionally, children under the age of 16 are not permitted.

Haunted Museum Location and Prices

Zak Bagan’s Haunted Museum is located one block from the strip in Las Vegas, Nevada. 600 E. Charleston Blvd.

Tickets cost $34 and can be purchased ahead of time from the museum’s website: https://thehauntedmuseum.com/. (There’s an additional $6+ booking fee if you do this, though.)

I’m not positive, but I suspect you can also buy them at the door too.

If you go, let me know what you thought.
