These are movies that had theatrical releases. Watch for a listing of movies that premiered via streaming services. Number 1 and 2 are in order; however, the remaining films are merely listed. (Note: The listing was compiled using IMDb.com and various articles about 2018 horror movies.)

  1. Hereditary (2018) release date June 8th. Rated R. In theaters this Friday. The young daughter “Charlie” has opened her own Etsy shop and sells creepy dolls similar to the ones in the movie. (Note: The store is owned and operated by the production company A24 Films; however, all proceeds go to the charity KFA, http://www.kidswithfoodallergies.org/. Her first 18 dolls quickly sold out.   2. A Quiet Place (2018) released April 6th. Rated PG-13. In theaters. A sequel has already been announced.
  3. Winchester (2018) released February 2nd. Rated PG-13. Streaming. Movie grossed over $25 million and was well received by audiences despite lackluster reviews.
  4. The Strangers: Prey at Night (2018) released March 9th. Rated R. Streaming. This movie grossed over $24 million in North America.
  5. Before I Wake (2016) released January 5th. Rated PG-13. Possibly available streaming.
  6. Upgrade (2018) released June 1st. Rated R. In theaters. Slow in revenue with $4.6 million.
  7. Insidious: The Last Key (2018) released January 5th. Rated PG-13. Streaming. This installment in the Insidious franchise grossed over $67 million in North American region.
  8. Unsane (2018) released March 23rd. Rated R. Streaming. Dismal revenue at $7.7 million.
  9. The Lodgers (2017) released March 23rd. Rated R. Streaming.
  10. The Secret of Marrowbone (2017), also known as Marrowbone, released April 13th. Rated R. Streaming.

  1. I hadn’t heard of The Secret of Marrowbone or The Lodgers. I’ve heard Unsane was pretyy good actually, but it’s not getting a lot of hype for some reason. I think people missed it. (Not that I’ve checked it out yet myself. lol) And how the heck did I not know The Strangers was already out? Grr! TOTALLY missed the ball on that one. Oh well. I’ll hope it gets to released to one of my streaming services soon then. LOL

    Love that you include the revenue too. Interesting to see it from that perspective!

    I want to watch it since it’s set in Spain. I think it may be dubbed. I need for it to rain so I can binge these!
