Yesterday I wrote about the K2 craziness in Old South Pittsburgh Hospital’s basement. It prompted me to go back through the pictures and that’s when I was reminded of something that creeped me out bad when I was there.
It was not the uneasy feeling I got by the nursery or the weird shadow encounter I had on the third floor. It was not the bizarre experiences down in the basement. It wasn’t even the EVPs Ghost Eyes got.
No, it was the damn hospital bed made up to look like there was a recently passed patient beneath it!
In reality it was just foam under the sheet made to look like the shape of a body. But I didn’t like it one bit.
I had to lift up the sheet and see for myself what was under there. I’ve seen Halloween II (the Jamie Lee Curtis/Donald Pleasence version) one too many times. I’m not taking any chances. Not when I’m in a haunted hospital where who knows what might happen! (Which, incidentally, looked an awful lot like the one Halloween II was set in, by the way. That also didn’t help my unease!)
If any of the ghosts had wanted to see a short fat girl sprout wings and fly out of that hospital at rocket speed, all they would’ve had to do was make that sheet move. That’s all if would’ve taken to get me moving!
Have you ever been somewhere and saw something that was clearly a prop and you knew it, but you kept your eye on it just in case anyway? If so, then you understand the unease I felt!

The power of the mind is a very odd thing. We know that movies aren’t real, and that there are no such things as flesh-eating zombies, but we still get scared anyway. We are hard-wired that way. It comes as no surprise to me that the fake body under the sheets should spook you. Added to that, it’s a little bit in bad taste don’t you think? – it would make me squirm a little to see it too. I have seen a couple of relatives in similar repose. It would kind of bring it all back to me. There’s nothing worse than the thought that there may also be some joker under there ready and primed to spring out with a huge BOO! – if they ever did I would hope they had something they could wipe the floor with afterwards 🙂
LMAO off, Dave! In your case they’d probably have to wipe the floor because of the mess you made of the poor guy (bloke? is that the word you’d use?) who scared you. In mine it’d be the pee I left behind before I zoomed away!!!!
