These days the faces of the TAPS (The Atlantic Paranormal Society) team on Ghost Hunters include paranormal investigators Jason Hawes, Steve Gonsalves, Dave Tango, and Shari DeBenedetti. Faces that, for the most part, look pretty familiar to those from the original series. As does their style of investigating.

But when the series rebooted a couple of years ago, there was one change that was a bit different from its origins. The TAPS teams often welcomed special guest investigators. That trend will continue when new episodes of Ghost Hunters premiere on Thursday, April 6 on Travel Channel and discovery+.

The TAPS team will also once again investigate locations and hauntings all over the country. From prisons and mines to mansions and even the Hoover Dam, they’ll use their state-of-the-art technology and methodology to try and figure out what’s going on.

And, as stated earlier, in each of the eight all-new, one-hour episodes, special guest investigators will join them. In some cases it will be celebrities, like The Walking Dead actor Chandler Riggs. He’ll join the TAPS team to investigate strange activity inside The Bastille, an abandoned 125-year-old former Wild West jail in California. Satori Hawes and Cody DesBiens also join the team to hunt for ghostly inmates in that episode.

In other cases, fellow Travel Channel or discovery+ stars join the team, like Destination Fear‘s Dakota Laden. Even Tory Belleci from Mythbusters gets in on the act at St. Ignatius Hospital in Colfax, Washington. And former Ghost Hunters regular, Dustin Pari, will also join the team for a few investigations. But he’s not the only one. Kris Williams will join them as they dive in to investigate the Hoover Dam.

Let’s check out the eight episodes that will air between April 6 and the season finale on May 25. They not only give us a glimpse at the locations, but they also reveal the special guest investigators we can expect to see.

  1. I love this show and I have missed seeing them. So looking forward to this.

  2. The Hoover Dam is an amazing structure. It’d be cool to see a ghost hunt filmed there!

  3. Hey Courtney. I think I asked before, but why isn’t Grant involved with his old crew anymore?

Gosh, it seems so obvious but I didn’t think of it like that, Priscilla. You’re right! Now I’m even more curious about this episode. (Which is the one that most piqued my interest from the descriptions. I didn’t even reveal that. I feel like you read my mind! lol)

Hey David! I can’t remember what I ate for breakfast for most mornings so I have no idea if you asked this before or not. lol HOWEVER, you’ve given me a GREAT post idea. If you’re wondering, others are too. And now I definitely would like to have an answer for you so…I will endeavor to get you one! THANKS for being a muse!

  7. @The Ghost Attic: I think I know what happened there, my friend. When the show got rebooted, Grant always acted a bit arrogant, whereas, Jason is genuine kind of guy. He is likeable. Grant really isn’t. Also, not only were Jason, Steve, and Tango kept out of the picture, but there was something that Grant said in Episode 1 or 2 that rubbed people the wrong way. He said that we all know that poltergeist activity is never caused by ghosts and that it is always caused by the mental activity of someone who is living in the house. Well, that pissed some people off. It was all over the ghost forums on the Internet. People were saying stuff like, “Oh, yeah? What about poltergeist activity in Pennhurst? No one lives there?” And other such things as that. His viewership immediately went down and after a couple more episodes that had already been filmed he was dropped like a hot potato. Grant, my friend, is a thing of the past, and I doubt very seriously, he’ll be doing any guest appearances. He and Jason kind of went the way of Zak and Nick.
