Semi-Wordless Wednesday: Thinking of You

Do you ever see things that make you think of people you know? Me too!

Like last week’s Mothman conception pics, I’m once again attempting to participate in Wordless Wednesday. Sort of. I once again find the need to use a few words to explain myself.

But I’m also attempting once again to keep it brief. So without further ado, below are some photos I took during my big vacation that reminded me of people I know. (And who some of you just might know too.)

The double decker bus tour we took included a jaunt down Sesame Street! Just kidding. We were in Times Square when I saw Elmo and Cookie Monster and quickly snapped a pic as we drove by. It made me chuckle and think of another blogger who also always makes me chuckle, the marvelously witty Peter Fenton of Ask Doc Paranormal. This sight might have inspired him to write one of his amusing posts he brilliantly comes up with.

Also, if you happen to notice the billboard in pink it happens to say something funny too. I also got a pic of that sign as we were walking around Times Square later that night. I took it with the intent of adding it to my Funny Pics Collection on Facebook.

Speaking of Times Square…Just being in New York period brought to mind Aaron Sagers, nationally syndicated pop culture columnist and historian, entertainment journalist, and the mastermind behind Paranormal Pop Culture. He calls NYC home.

The above two pics reminded me of Julie from Above the Norm and Autumnforest from Ghost Hunting Theories because of comments they’d made when I wrote about 9/11 last year. I never thought I’d actually have a chance to go by the site of the disaster, but I did and these two ladies were on my mind the whole time I was there.

Passing this famous little book shoppe made me think of horror and mystery writer friends of mine like Christine Verstraete, Elizabeth Eagan Cox, Dawn Kravagna, and Linda Moffitt.

Every time I see a cemetery I think of certain people who love them: my good friend Jade Walker, Patty Paschal Ceran, Jessica from Ghost Stories and Haunted Places, and Mommy D from Weekly Spectre. They all have a deep appreciation for cemeteries and the tombstones that stand sentinel in them. They’ve taught me to appreciate the gentle artistry laying unsuspectingly in many a graveyard.

I snapped this as we passed by on our double decker bus tour. If I’d been able to meet up with Jason from The Occult Section and Brooke from SCARED! while we were in New York, this is how I would’ve gotten over to see them!

We stumbled across this as we were walking around and I instantly thought again of Jessica from Ghost Stories and Haunted Places. The Jekyll & Hyde Club is one of her favorite places to visit when she’s in New York. We didn’t take her up on her suggestion to eat there, however. Perhaps we’ll get a chance next time…

We passed this sign for a psychic and I thought of all the psychics I know, like Brenda the Heart Centered Psychic, Nathan from A State of Mind, Michele Meiche, and so many more. (Too many to list. But I have a feeling this bunch already picked up on they were being thought of!)

Another one that made me think of Nathan. (Because he lives in Poland and I’m of part Polish descent…I couldn’t resist taking a pic of this statue when I came across it in Central Park.)

Until now all pics were from New York. I took this in Gloucester, Mass. It was something else that made me think of Mommy D from Weekly Spectre. When we left I knew she was getting ready to launch her Live Spectre Cam for her haunted dolls. I was half tempted to ask the store owner if she had any haunted stuffed animals. My husband stopped me though. He knew I’d have to buy a haunted stuffed animal for her if I came across one. (Which has me wondering: would haunted dolls and haunted stuffed animals play nice together?)

This was also taken in Gloucester, Mass. It made me think of Jen Blaney, a pal from Twitter. She lives in Boston. The Man at the Wheel statue and the Fisherman’s Memorial was about the main attraction to see in Gloucester. It made me regret not taking the tour our ship offered into Boston, where Jen’s from. She’d loaded me up on suggestions for paranormal hot spots to visit if I ever happened to be in the area. One day I will be!

The above made me think of Michelle and Joey from Guy & Girl Travels because we’d chatted on Twitter about how excited they were to do a ghost tour abroad next month. (I think it was abroad. I want to say Germany? But I can’t recall.) However, they try to take ghost tours in each city they visit. Psst, if you two read this and ever head to Halifax, Nova Scotia you might want to check out the ghost tour of the Citadel. Looked good!

This one made me think of both Jessica and Michelle and Joey. Jessica because Quebec was very French and I fell in love with her blog in the first place because she writes about so many haunted places in France. Also, I know she enjoys taking ghost tours when possible. And Michelle and Joey for reasons I listed under the pic above this one.

That’s me with our tour guide for Ghost Tours of Quebec. We had a chance to take the tour during our trip. (I’ll be writing about that in more detail at some point.)

However, during the tour I kept hearing people say as they took pictures, “I wonder if any ghosts will show up?” It made me think of Javier from GhostTheory and all the stories of supposed ghosts caught on camera during ghost tours he’s written about. (And I had to laugh when I happened to snap a pic of a ghost…but it was an actor from a competing ghost tour company.)

  1. AWWWWW thanks for thinking of me! Looks like you had a great trip! Glad your back tho. Things were far to quiet around here 😉

I dunno if haunted stuffed animals would get along with my dolls, but stuffed animals don’t last long around here, the dog and the kids are the nemesis of stuffed animals LOL

It’s hard not to think of you two! (And some of the other folks I listed.) You’re part of my psyche at this point!
