Twitter never lets me down, you know that? Since I rarely get to the theaters anymore, and even watching DVDs at home has been lacking lately, I’m not as in the know as I used to be about coming attractions. But Twitter’s been fixing that. I’ve had some interesting-looking movies following me lately, and then I can share them here for Movie Monday!
This next one came courtesy of @DMRMovie. The movie is Dark Moon Rising. It’s a werewolf one set in the deserts of Nevada. (I’m getting the feeling werewolves are hot again. Between Twilight’s New Moon, the new Wolfman that’s coming out, and now this one…yeah, I’d say werewolves are making a comeback.)
Anyway, this one looked interesting. Maybe a bit on the cheesy side. It reminds me of movie from the late Eighties called Waxwork. (Only one part of that movie dealt with werewolves though.) But something about Dark Moon Rising’s feel and Waxwork strikes me as similar. And I happen to love Waxwork for some reason. (A reason which my husband can’t fathom and I can’t explain to him because I don’t understand it myself. That movie isn’t amazing. It’s more silly than scary, but I like it. Sometimes these things can’t be explained, can they?)
At any rate, take a peek and see what you think.
Courtney Mroch is a globe-trotting restless spirit who’s both possessed by wanderlust and the spirit of adventure, as well as obsessed with true crime, horror, the paranormal, and weird days. Perhaps it has something to do with her genes? She is related to occult royalty, after all. Marie Laveau, the famous Voodoo practitioner of New Orleans, is one of her ancestors. That could also explain her infatuation with skeletons.

Oh boy! I’ve always loved werewolves as much as vampires. Just glad Frankenstein isn’t making the rounds–he’s a bit slow and dull, although zombies are too, but somehow they’re just a lot cooler thank Franky boy.
Oh cool. I am a werewolf fan and this one could be fun to watch. I will look for this one if it comes on TV, perhaps Syfy or Chill cable channels.
