A PR person representing BBC America shared an inside look video about tonight’s second season premier of Being Human.
I had never heard of the show, but this certainly caught my attention:
This witty yet terrifying series follows three twenty-something’s and their secret double-lives – as a werewolf, a vampire, and a ghost, struggling to live normal lives, despite their strange and dark secrets.
Oh really? I must know more.
So I watched the video and immediately went to my DVR, searched for Being Human, and set it to record tonight. I was instantly invested in the characters and wanting to spend more time with them.
And witty? It shows. This line from Annie (who’s the ghost played by the lovely Lenora Chrichlow) while she’s talking to George (the werewolf played by Russell Tovey) about why no one’s been to the store lately cracked me up:
Well I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but, um, I’ve been struggling with the whole ghost thing the last few days. Being invisible makes purchasing tea bags a touch awkward.
And if you’re into the whole sexy vampire thing, Aidan Turner plays Mitchell. His character might be teetering on what’s become the whole vampire standard cliche (i.e. tall, dark and brooding, but with a sensitive side), but so be it. For those of us who love our sexy and slightly tortured vamps, Being Human has certainly provided that with Mitchell.
The series airs on BBC America at 10/9 c tonight.

Courtney Mroch is a globe-trotting restless spirit who’s both possessed by wanderlust and the spirit of adventure, as well as obsessed with true crime, horror, the paranormal, and weird days. Perhaps it has something to do with her genes? She is related to occult royalty, after all. Marie Laveau, the famous Voodoo practitioner of New Orleans, is one of her ancestors. That could also explain her infatuation with skeletons.

I watched some of the clip BBC America had on On Demand for it. They were great! I really like the characters. I goofed on setting up the DVR recording, but I’m hoping BBC will put the eppies on On Demand also and I can watch them there. Hope you like it. I’ll be curious to see what you think!
