What Does the Princess Bride and Ghost Adventures Have in Common?

ghost-adventures

As I promised in my first post today, my next Haunt Jaunt for the day is Poveglia Island.

“What does that have to do with the title of this post?”

Glad you asked. I’ll tell you!

I’m going to give you some clues at the end of this post. Your mission: to identify the common theme.

It involves something happening tomorrow. Specifically, Ghost Adventures and their special 90 minute long version of the Poveglia Island investigation.

That’s right, Zak, Nick and Aaron are revisiting the haunted island. Not re-investigating it, mind you. Rather, they’re adding some extra footage we didn’t see last fall.

So if you missed Zak getting possessed, or, if you’re like me and you’re just insanely curious about the island and will take more of it wherever you can find it, tune it tomorrow. (I swear, ever since I saw it on Scariest Places on Earth I’ve wanted to see more investigations of it. In fact, between it and Waverly, it would get my vote to be the subject of it’s own paranormal show. Kind of like what Autumnforest proposed in her “Haunted House” ghost TV show suggestion.)

Okay, so now for the quiz. Under each of the following “clues” you’ll find either a quote or a picture. See if you can figure out the common theme. That’ll be the answer to what does The Princess Bride and Ghost Adventures have in common!

CLUE #1

Quote from The Princess Bride:

Fezzik: Why do you wear a mask? Were you burned by acid, or something like that?

Man in Black: Oh no, it’s just that they’re terribly comfortable. I think everyone will be wearing them in the future.

Think you know what it is? If you want to double check to make sure you got it right, I’ll post it on both Twitter and the Haunt Jaunts Fan Page. (And, no, it’s not that both are comedies!)

  1. Very clever! I have to tell you, every time I see him in that mask, I laugh so hard, I about break a rib!

  2. Hey, THANKS! And that mask…that has to be one of the most ridiculous props he’s ever brought out to use. I know it’s a real mask and that’s what they wore, but the fact he was brave enough to don it…full well knowing how silly he’d look…that’s actually kind of savvy on his part. Makes for entertaining TV, but just maybe it might also provoke a spirit. (Who knows, they might laugh too!)

Oh, and did you see Joel McHale’s comment about it on the Soup? If not, I’ll just say this: being near a bathroom might not be a bad idea. Or having a change of undies on hand. I was laughing so hard I almost peed my pants!

  3. No clue on the princess bride thingy but I have something here I thought y’all might like to see. I know you have a more appropriate post on this but I am just too lazy to go find it. lol Actually, I’m too busy.

Check out the first video at the 7 minute mark. I think this may be where the Donna LaCroix thing with the Ghost Hunters originally stemmed from. This is a 2007 episode.

They were rude to her. I don’t think she would have even forgotten that incident, especially since they aired it, which would piss me off. I would have quit right then and there. The blame should have been placed on Jason and Grant but instead appears to have been put moreso on Donna.

    Donna
