Every month we’ll feature a photo and give whoever wants to the chance to caption it. At the end of every month, we’ll pick our favorite caption and award that person a prize.
Yep. You read that right. What kind of contest have we ever thrown that didn’t offer prizes? (There’s only one answer: None!)
Now don’t go all crazy thinking we’re offering huge prizes. They’re very modest. (We have a budget to be mindful of, you know.)
But we do think the prizes are decent and could buy you a coffee, book, app, game, music…Well, you’ll get the point when you see the prizes. Here’s what you’ll have a choice of:

- $15 Target card
But you know us. We revere our newsletter subscribers and where we can we offer them bonuses. For Caption This Contests we’ll let them pick two gift cards if we pick their caption. That’s right. We might put an extra $20-$30 spending money in some lucky newsletter subscriber’s pocket.

Insticator Horror Trivia
If you’ve come to Haunt Jaunts via a desktop site in the past several months, you may have noticed a trivia widget in our sidebar. (It previously sat right above the Twitter feed.) It was something we picked up from our affiliate, Insticator.
We sort of threw it up there not quite understanding all that Insticator’s trivia embeds offered. But once we finally had a little time to sit down, play with it, and figure it out?
Well, it didn’t take long to realize it would fit perfectly in with a concept that has been brewing in our minds for quite a while. (Namely, something like the Fun & Games section we’ve now created.)
We love horror (especially horror movies). We love trivia. Insticator had a trivia embed that allowed you to pick horror and horror movies as one of the topics.
Which is how the Insticator Horror Trivia page was born.

Courtney Mroch is a globe-trotting restless spirit who’s both possessed by wanderlust and the spirit of adventure, as well as obsessed with true crime, horror, the paranormal, and weird days. Perhaps it has something to do with her genes? She is related to occult royalty, after all. Marie Laveau, the famous Voodoo practitioner of New Orleans, is one of her ancestors. That could also explain her infatuation with skeletons.
