There were some neat videos in my YouTube Subscription Update this week, so I figured I do something a little different for Movie Monday today. I always like sharing what I find, so why not put the ones I liked best all together in a post?
The first one is via YouTube user ParaHuntDotCom. It’s a photo montage of the haunted Bissman Building in Mansfield, Ohio. I thought they did a great job putting the image sequences to music. And they did a good job on the effects. They sort of used some of the same pictures over and over again, but the way they pulled it all together I thought was very effective.
The second one is from YouTube user HiRezDesigns. It’s an example of a haunted house prop they produce and sell. I’ve seen these kind of portraits for sale, but theirs come with sound. Which makes them even more fun.
The third was from SpiralInvestigations. It’s a “coming soon” promo teaser of their investigation of the Old Railway. Spiral is an investigation group located in the U.K. I like that they give me the chance to go to a haunted place via my computer since I’m unable to jaunt across the pond currently.
The fourth one is from GhostWatching titled Victorian Spirit Photography and Early Ghost Movies. The description sums it up best: “The victorians had a fascination with all things ghostly and paranormal, this is a clip for a programme exploring early cinema hosted by Terry Gilliam.” Short in its own right, but a little longer than some of the other videos I’ve included. Very neat look into ghost history, especially as it relates to film.
The last one is an EVP caught at the Lyric Theater in Alabama by GhostlyRealms. It’s one of the clearest EVPs I’ve heard in a long time. I’m always a little skeptical of EVPs, especially when I don’t have video to go with it so I can see who was there and who was doing what, but I know the people associated with this YouTube channel. They let me go hunt with them at the Old South Pittsburgh Hospital last year. They’re on the up and up. I trust if they say they caught this EVP, they did.
Courtney Mroch is a globe-trotting restless spirit who’s both possessed by wanderlust and the spirit of adventure, as well as obsessed with true crime, horror, the paranormal, and weird days. Perhaps it has something to do with her genes? She is related to occult royalty, after all. Marie Laveau, the famous Voodoo practitioner of New Orleans, is one of her ancestors. That could also explain her infatuation with skeletons.
