Move Over Josh Gates, There’s a New Beast Hunter in Town

Tomorrow National Geographic Channel premieres a new series called Beast Hunter. From the brief clips I’ve seen, it looks fantastic!

Like Syfy’s Destination Truth and it’s hunky host, Josh Gates, Nat Geo’s Beast Hunter has a hottie monster hunter manning the show’s helm, too: Pat Spain.

Apparently Spain learned later in life, after he started pursuing his lust for science and beast baiting, that he’s related to Charles Fort. Fort was a scientist whose work was controversial for his time (circa early to mid 1900s). He questioned everything, even well-established doctrine, and pushed the boundaries. He apparently wasn’t very well appreciated or received by his colleagues.

What will Spain’s legacy be? The same as his ancestor’s? Or will he be embraced by the paranormal masses?

We’ll get to find out as we watch his journeys to uncover some of the mysteries others, like Spain’s contemporary Josh Gates, has already explored. So far there are five episodes, including:

  1. Man Ape of Sumatra (airing both March 4 and March 11)
  2. Nightmare of the Amazon (also airing March 4, as well as March 18)
  3. Swamp Monster of the Congo (airing March 11 and March 25)
  4. Sea Serpent of the North (airing March 18)
  5. Mongolian Death Worm (airing March 25)

MADAME MROCH’S PREDICTION

I have a feeling we’ll be in for a treat. Nat Geo did phenomenal jobs with their “Truth about Zombies,” Bigfoot, and Ghosts Behind Bars specials. If they bring that kind of quality and pair it with Spain’s knowledge and good looks, how can they have anything but a winner on their hands?

Andy, you’re a real comedian. At least it WOULD be a comedy if I was on a TV show!! (Maybe I could do a voice over for a cartoon show about ghosts???)
