Haunt Jaunts Welcomes Southern Spirit Guide Lewis Powell IV

My Photo

We’re beyond pleased to announce that we’ve added a new contributor to our midst: Lewis Powell IV.

If his name looks familiar, that’s because Lewis has contributed guest blogs here before. Specifically, his Haunted Georgia: A Primer series.

He saw our call for Writers Wanted and applied by sending in some links.

So silly. He had us with his subject line “Writing for Haunt Jaunts.”

Hired!

Lewis has his own site, Southern Spirit Guide: A Guide to the Ghosts and Hauntings of the American South.

His primary concern will still be contributing his wonderful and very well-researched posts to his site, but we’re excited that every once in a while he’ll be sharing something here too.

In fact, today he shared his first post: A Grand Tour of Southern Ghosts.

Here’s a snippet:

Perhaps no region of the United States can boast more ghosts than the Southeast. The Southern landscape is thronged with legends, lore, ghost stories, and actual paranormal activity that plays out among the live oaks and laurels, pines and palms. From the Mason-Dixon Line south in a crescent line to the Mississippi River, the South possesses a brutal and bloody history, a deep storytelling culture, and diverse and devout spiritual traditions which contribute to its haunted nature….

Please join me on a ramble to visit among the region’s most imminent spirits, important haunted places, and some of the most paranormally active places among the South’s superb, storied and scarred landscape.

Be sure to check out the full post, say hello to Lewis, and make him feel welcomed.
