Could Bigfoot be a Hybrid Humanzee?

The other morning I woke up super early and could not fall back to sleep. I flipped on the TV and came across a program on Science Channel called “Humanzees.”

I didn’t know it was called that when I flipped to it, though. I just immediately quit flipping when I saw the creature on the screen whose name I quickly learned was Oliver.

Holy shit! It’s a real live Bigfoot! Someone really actually caught one!

[INSERT LOUD BUZZER HERE]

HUMAN AND CHIMPANZEE COMBO?

Although, Oliver was touted as a possible Bigfoot at one time. In addition to also being called the “Missing Link” because he was suspected of being a possible human-chimpanzee cross, or humanzee.

Oliver was a most unusual Chimpanzee. He had very humanlike facial features. He also walked upright. On purpose because he wanted to. His movements were much more human than chimp.

Those were the very first things I noticed about him, let me tell you. You may be familiar with this Oliver creature, but he was news to me. Seeing him was a total shock. Like I stated earlier, I really thought I was looking at what might be a Bigfoot.

However, in the 1990s, they proved Oliver was not part human, part chimpanzee. He was just a regular, odd-looking and human-like acting, chimpanzee.

THE TROUBLE WITH OLIVER BEING BIGFOOT

The more I learn about Bigfoot, the more I believe it exists. I don’t think it’s a monster, though. I truly believe in my heart one day it will be found and it’ll turn out to be a new species of ape. (Or at least one previously undiscovered.)

The trouble was, even walking upright, Oliver was dinky compared to many of the accounts describing Bigfoot. So Oliver the odd-looking, non-humanzee could pass as a “Fun Size” Bigfoot, but not be a Bigfoot.

Yet, as I watched the show, I wondered if Bigfoot could be some sort of hybrid like a humanzee.

THE LIGER FACTOR

What if, as the scientists on the program suggested could be a possibility, once upon a time a human and a chimp had successfully mated? And what if this unnatural union had produced a baby that had lived? Could it, like ligers (a male lion crossed with a female tiger), grow to an unnaturally large proportion (ligers are GYNORMOUS!), thus accounting for Bigfoot’s characteristics?

Apparently male lions mating with female tigers override a growth gene inhibitor. I forget now who carries the gene in each species that shuts off how big a lion will grow or how big a tiger will get. They said on the program, but it was early and my mind only grasped that ligers get to be the size they do because male lions don’t carry the gene, and apparently it’s not triggered by the female tigers either.

Could that same thing happen if a chimp and a human produced offspring? Suddenly there you have an extra-large, hairy, man-ape looking thing, a.k.a. Bigfoot, because it overrode some gene.

Now that would be wild, wouldn’t it? If Bigfoot turned out to be a hybrid? I think that would be remarkably exciting!
